Itinerary

Day 1: Guwahati – Bhalukpong (240 Km / 05 Hrs)

The Explore Arunachal Pradesh tour starts from Guwahati. You will be picked up from the Guwahati Airport/ Railway Station and will be taken to Bhalukpong. A small town nestled in the foothills of Himalayas in West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh, Bhalukpong is renowned for its stunning scenic beauty and tranquil ambiance. The Kameng River splits the valley and adds more charms to this tourist destination.

After reaching Bhalukpong, complete your check-in formalities at the respective hotel and unwind.

Later visit the Tipi Orchidarium, this Orchidarium shelters over 500 different varieties of orchids of more than 2600 cultivated orchids from 80 different species. Explore the Tipi Orchidarium and return to the hotel.

Overnight Stay at Bhalukpong.

Day 2: Bhalukpong – Dirang (180 Km / 06 Hrs.)-

After early morning breakfast, complete your check-out formalities, and drive towards Dirang. It is renowned for its hot water spring and apple orchards apart from its natural beauty.

On arrival check in to the hotel and relax.

Later head to Dirang Dzong, a tribal region located on the banks of the Dirang River. Witness the astonishing architecture of stone houses. Dirang Dzong fort was built in the 17th century to guard Bomdila from the bordering states. The construction of houses in this region is said to be over 500 years old.

Day 3: Dirang – Tawang (160 Km / 8 Hrs)

Wake up early in the morning, have your delicious breakfast, and get ready to explore the 3rd-day of the tour. Start your drive from Dirang to Tawang for a sightseeing tour. En route, you will be visiting the Sela Pass, it is a high-altitude mountain pass located on the border between the Tawang and West Kameng Districts of Arunachal Pradesh. It has an elevation of about 13476 ft. while Sela Lake, near the apex of the pass, is one of the sacred lakes in Tibetan Buddhism. Before reaching Tawang you will also visit Jaswant Ghar also known as Jaswant Garh War Memorial. Honor the Martyrs at Jaswant Garh and if you wish you can also visit the nearby stunning Nunarang fall.

After reaching Tawang, complete the check-in formalities and unwind. The rest of the time is at your leisure.

Day 4: Tawang Sightseeing (70km/6hrs)

Next day in Tawang we will show you all the places within Tawang.First, we will visit the Sixth Dalai Lama's Birthplace, the Tawang Monastery. It is the largest monastery in India and also the second-largest across the globe. The monastery is set 10000 feet above sea level on a hill and boasts mesmerizing views of the surrounding villages and hill stations.

Later visit Nun Monastery, Rope Way to Nun Monastery, Apple Orchards, Emporium, Brahma-Dung-Chung Ani Gompa, and Light and Sound Show.Tawang Market, Galden Namgyal Lhatse Museum, Urgelling Gompa etc.

Day 5: PTSO Lake - Madhuri Lake (Optional- Bum La Pass ) 

Post breakfast, start your day with a breathtaking view of Shonga-tser Lake (Madhuri Lake), surrounded by snow-capped mountains and the valley offer a spectacular view. On your way back to Tawang stop by Heart Lake, PTSO lake, and Naghula lake, which will surely make your day.

Overnight stay in Tawang.

(Optional-Bumla Pass-Rs 4500 to 7500/Vehicle Extra)

Bum La Pass is about 37 km away from Tawang. It is the indo-china border that lies at 15,200 ft above sea level. The place is a must-visit but only when you have a special permit from the Office of the Deputy Commissioner in Tawang District, and then the Indian army cantonment of Tawang. A telescope and a few binoculars are kept near the Indian Army check post for visitors who want to know what lies beyond the border. The army canteen serves hot tea, water, and dessert.

Note:- If you are planning to visit the Bum La Pass then you must choose an itinerary with at least 3 days' stay at Tawang as the pass for visiting Bum La Pass cannot be obtained on the same day.

Day 6: Tawang - Bomdila (195 Km / 07 Hrs)

On day 5th, enjoy your early morning breakfast and check out from the hotel. Drive to Bomdila which is a small town renowned for Buddhist monasteries along with several apple orchids and trekking trails. Bomdila is an amazing spot located in the northwestern part of the state of Arunachal Pradesh. Before reaching Bomdila you will find a Nag Temple on your way, seek some blessings at the temple and continue your drive. After reaching your destination complete your check-in formalities at the respective hotel and relax.

Later, visit the Bomdila Monastery, which is the biggest attraction in Bomdila, which a large number of tourists and Buddhist Monks visit every year. If you are an adventure lover then you must trek up to RR Hill, Bomdila's highest point. After reaching the peak you will enjoy the breathtaking landscape views of Tibet and Bhutan. You can also take a short stroll in the beautiful apple orchards. After exploring Bomdila, get back to your hotel.

Later, visit the local markets to buy Buddhist flags, woven bamboo articles, colorful woolen scarves, Tibetan ornaments, carpets, and local spices like black cardamom, tea, walnuts, and oranges. After some shopping, get back to the hotel.

Day 7: Bomdila –Itanagar (260 Km/ 08 Hrs)

Itanagar is located in the foothills of the Himalayas and is a charming town renowned for its elegant Tibetan architecture and various tribal cultures. It is the home to the medieval Ita Fort and the Jawaharlal Nehru State Museum which exhibits textiles and handicrafts. The pleasant weather, fabulous Ganga Lake, locally known as Gyakar Sinyi surrounded by parks, orchids, and the Buddha Vihar, sanctified by the Dalai Lama are among the major attractions which make this town a true paradise. Day 8: Itanagar – Ziro (140 Km / 04 Hrs.)-

Wake up early in the morning and have your delicious breakfast. Later, check out from the hotel and drive towards Ziro. En route, you will get a chance to visit the Nishi Tribal villages, the community of this tribe is the largest ethnic group in Arunachal Pradesh. The interesting fact is that they can be easily identified by their dress. You will observe that the men of this tribe have long hair hooked above the forehead, wear cane bands around their waist, cane caps on their heads holding long-bladed knives. Nishi tribes are very proud of their race and culture and are enamored with hunting and fishing.

After reaching Ziro, complete the check-in formalities at your respective hotel and enjoy your 7th-day by visiting Ziro valley. One of the most beautiful landscapes in India is positioned in the grand mountains of Arunachal. Day 9: In Ziro

On the 8th day, wake up early in the morning, enjoy your breakfast and get ready for some adventure activities, head towards Duzoku Valley, this beautiful valley is surrounded by lush greenery and seasonal flowers enjoy trekking and later visit the Apatani tribal villages after reaching the village interact with the local tribes of the village to know about their art, culture, and lifestyle. These tribes are well-trained cultivators and masters in the terrace as well as wet farming. Apatani tribes are amazing agriculturists compared to any other tribal community. You will observe that some old men used to tie their hair in top knots and wear a tattoo on their faces whereas women wear circular nose plugs with a tattoo on their faces, but currently the young generation of this tribe has stopped this practice of wearing nose plugs and tattoos on faces. After exploring the wondrous village back to your respective hotel.

In the afternoon en route back to Darjeeling, visit the Pashupati Market. Situated right at the Nepal border, this is the place to buy cheap cosmetics and clothes imported from other countries.

Day 10: Ziro – Daporijo (180 Km. /06 Hrs.)

You can find suspension bridges over the Subansiri River which boasts an excellent view of the river and surroundings. The Valley is among the most fascinating offbeat places to visit, with flourishing orchards of oranges and pleasantly cool weather making this tourist destination a real paradise. This mesmerizing valley is nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas and with an altitude of around 6000 feet above sea level. The river Yargyapchu also known as the Siyom River flows in the valley of Menchukha. Mostly Memba, Ramo, Bokar, and Libo tribes are found in this region, and you can observe a vibrant culture in this region.

Enroute visit Siko Dido waterfalls in Irgo village, a few kilometers before reaching Mechuka. Falling from a height of approximately 200 feet, the falls has a plunge pool at its base. The falls are surrounded by gorgeous green mountains and is difficult to miss out while on this stretch.

Day 13: In Mechuka

On day 12th, after breakfast, you will begin your local sightseeing of Mechuka.
