In a significant boost to travel accessibility and tourism prospects, IndiGo, India’s leading airline, has unveiled direct flights connecting Bengaluru, the bustling tech hub, to the mesmerizing Agatti Island nestled in the Lakshadweep archipelago. With fares starting as low as 6999 INR (85 USD) for one-way travel, this new route promises to open up a world of possibilities for travelers seeking pristine beaches and aquatic adventures.
Agatti Island, renowned for its stunning landscapes and rich biodiversity, now stands as the 88th domestic and 121st overall destination in IndiGo’s extensive network. Commencing operations from March 31, 2024, these flights are poised to revolutionize travel to this remote yet enchanting corner of India.
Mr. Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo, expressed his excitement about incorporating Lakshadweep into the airline’s destinations, emphasizing the natural allure of the archipelago. “The launch of these new flights would not only further strengthen Lakshadweep’s position on the country’s aviation map but also enhance travel & tourism,” remarked Mr. Malhotra.
Agatti Island, stretching over 6 km of pristine coastline, beckons travelers with its sandy beaches and diverse marine life. From deep-sea fishing to scuba diving, sailing, skiing, and kayaking, the island offers a plethora of water activities for enthusiasts. Moreover, Agatti serves as a gateway to exploring nearby uninhabited gems like Bangaram, Pitti, Thinnakara, Parali-I, and Parali-II.
