These documents, developed by the National Centre for Sustainable Coastal Management (NCSCM) in Chennai, offer a first look at the regulatory framework that will guide land use and coastal activities in these islands under the ICRZ Notification, 2019.The Andaman & Nicobar Islands are home to some of the most untouched natural beauty in India, and the recently released draft Island Coastal Regulation Zone (ICRZ) maps highlight the unique tourism potential of Katchal, Interview, and Teressa Islands. Each island offers distinct coastal features that make them attractive to eco-tourists, adventure seekers, and nature lovers.

Katchal Island

In addition, physical copies are available in key administrative offices across the islands, including the Chief Secretary’s Office, Deputy Commissioners’ Offices, and at various tribal councils in Katchal and Teressa.

Invitation to Stakeholders

Tourism stakeholders, local residents, environmental organizations, and developers are invited to review these drafts and provide input on potential impacts, proposed projects, or development strategies for the coming decade. Stakeholders are encouraged to submit their suggestions or objections, as well as master plans for future developments, within a 30-day period.
