Day 1: Guwahati to Shillong

On the first day, you will arrive in Guwahati and be picked up from the airport or railway station. You will then begin your journey to Shillong, which takes approximately 3 hours.

Along the way, you will stop at Umiam Lake (Barapani) to enjoy its beautiful views and take some photos. Afterward, you will continue to Shillong and check into your hotel. In the evening, you can explore Police Bazaar, a popular shopping and dining area where you can savor local food and shop for souvenirs. You will return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Shillong.

Day 2: Shillong to Cherrapunji (Enroute Sightseeing)

After breakfast, check out from your hotel and start the journey to Cherrapunji. Your first stop will be at Shillong Peak, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the city and surrounding hills. Next, visit Elephant Falls, a three-tiered waterfall surrounded by lush greenery, making for a picturesque stop.

Continuing on your way, you will visit Mawkdok Dympep Valley Viewpoint, offering stunning views of the deep valley below.

As you approach Cherrapunji, stop by Dainthlen Falls, named after a legendary serpent. Upon arrival in Cherrapunji, check into your hotel.

In the afternoon, visit Nohkalikai Falls, one of the highest waterfalls in India, and take in the breathtaking views.

Next, explore the Garden of Caves, known for its beautiful rock formations and rich biodiversity, offering a unique experience of nature.

In the evening, return to your hotel to relax and unwind. Overnight stay in Cherrapunji.

Day 3: Cherrapunji Sightseeing, Mawlynnong Sightseeing, and Dawki

After breakfast, start your day by exploring the wonders of Cherrapunji. Begin with a visit to Mawsmai Cave, known for its stunning limestone formations. Next, head to Kynrem Waterfalls, a picturesque three-tiered waterfall that offers a beautiful backdrop for photography.

Continue your exploration with the famous Seven Sisters Falls (Nohsngithiang Falls), where you can admire the cascading waters.

In the late morning, drive to Mawlynnong, celebrated as Asia's cleanest village. Upon arrival, explore the village’s charming landscapes and visit the Mawlynnong Living Root Bridge in Riwai, a remarkable example of sustainable living.

Additional Mawlynnong Sightseeing:

  • Sky View Point: Climb the bamboo viewing tower for stunning views of the surrounding hills and Bangladesh.
  • Balancing Rock: A natural wonder that showcases the area's unique geology.
  • Village Walk: Stroll through the village to appreciate the local culture and interact with friendly villagers.

After enjoying lunch in Mawlynnong, proceed to Dawki. Before checking into your hotel, visit the Dawki Suspension Bridge, which offers spectacular views of the Umngot River and the surrounding landscape.

In the evening, check into your hotel in Dawki for a relaxing overnight stay.

Day 4: Dawki Sightseeing, Krangshuri or Phe Phe Waterfalls, and Shillong Drop

After breakfast, start your day with a serene boat ride on the crystal-clear Umngot River in Dawki. This tranquil experience allows you to take in the breathtaking scenery and enjoy the pristine waters.

Next, head to Krangshuri Waterfalls, which is a short walk from the parking area, making it easily accessible. The beautiful multi-tiered falls offer a stunning backdrop for relaxation and photography. Alternatively, you can visit Phe Phe Waterfalls, which requires a trek but rewards you with spectacular views and a more secluded experience.

After enjoying the waterfalls, begin your journey back to Shillong. On the way, consider stopping at scenic viewpoints or small local shops for unique souvenirs.

Upon arriving in Shillong, check into your hotel. In the evening, explore some local attractions, such as Lady Hydari Park or Don Bosco Museum, if time permits.

You’ll spend the night in Shillong, reflecting on the day’s adventures.

Day 5: Early Morning Shillong Sightseeing and Journey to Guwahati

On the final day, wake up early and enjoy breakfast at your hotel. Start your morning with a visit to Laitlum Canyons, where you can soak in the stunning views of the valleys and hills. This spot offers breathtaking panoramas, perfect for memorable photos.

Next, head to Lady Hydari Park, a beautiful park known for its well-maintained gardens and serene ambiance. You can also visit the Cathedral of Mary Help of Christians, an iconic church in Shillong.

After your morning sightseeing, check out from the hotel and begin your journey to Guwahati. On the way, visit the Kamakhya Temple, one of the most revered pilgrimage sites in Assam, known for its unique architecture and spiritual significance.

Finally, depending on your travel schedule, you will drop off at the Guwahati airport or railway station for your onward journey in the evening, concluding your memorable trip.
