Collinpur Beach, also known as “Sunset Bay”, located on the south-western coast of the Andaman Islands, is a true tropical paradise that offers a unique blend of natural beauty and tranquility. It is one of only three Bay of Bengal beaches in the South Andaman Island, alongside Khurma Dera and Mahua Dera, making it a rare and pristine destination. This secluded beach is a perfect example of nature’s untouched charm, with its cobalt-blue waters and smooth sand stretching along a U-shaped shoreline.
The shallow waters, ideal for wading, add to the allure, though swimming is not recommended due to the presence of saltwater crocodiles in the area. The beach is surrounded by dense tropical forests, with towering palm plantations and ancient trees that provide a stunning backdrop. Rocky outcrops along the shore further enhance the beach’s exotic appeal, creating a picturesque scene that draws visitors seeking peace and beauty away from the more crowded spots of the Andamans.
Collinpur Beach offers an unforgettable experience for nature lovers and those looking for a tranquil retreat. The area’s rich greenery, dramatic coastline, and wildlife make it a haven for photographers, walkers, and anyone seeking to enjoy the untouched beauty of the Andaman Islands. As the sun sets, Collinpur transforms into “Sunset Bay,” offering one of the most spectacular sunset views in the region.
